One is an eveninglenght solo danceperformance for and by Kari Hoaas. One is an extreme physical collage of hundreds of well known images and representations of women and the female body. By showing and then disstorting what is easily recongnizable, the work seeks to trandscend these ideas of gender and instead expose the human being in the continious actualization of the processes in becoming.
One is a search for an expression and structure that will transcend the idea and feeling of time; a search to create such a strong experience of the present moment that past and future disintegrates and falls away. A search to find a moment where the audience and the performer can exist together in the experience of the here and now.
One is created in recognition of the continous global struggle for women’s rights and in celebration of the 100-year anniversary for Norwegian women’s right to vote 1913-2013.
